The Mayfield Historical Society will present “Adirondack Lumber Camp Songs” by Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle, award winning songwriters and singers who live near the Adirondacks in upstate New York. As a duo, they have been performing for eight years and tour both regionally and nationally. Folk Times wrote, “With guitar, violin, banjo, harmonica, ukulele and dulcimer, these high-spirited independent artists present heartfelt original acoustic folk and blues.” This program features the historic songs of lumberjacks in the 1800’s logging camps of the Adirondack Mountains. It also includes interesting narrative about this charming and tough work era in upstate New York. The event will take place at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St., Mayfield, on Monday, April 15, at 7 pm. There is ample parking and the event is free and open to all with donations gratefully accepted.
