The Mayfield Historical Society’s 28th Annual Christmas Open House at The Rice Homestead will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Visitors will step back in time to an old-fashioned Christmas with hot mulled cider and cookies, music in the Victorian Parlor, lovely seasonal decorations, its famous homemade pie sale, and tours of the home. Musician Gary VanSlyke will be performing on Saturday from 1 – 3 pm. Irena Garin and Connie Chamberlain of “Fleur de Lys” along with guest singer Gary Miller will be performing on Sunday from 1 – 3 pm. Fleur de Lys specializes in traditional and international songs and they sing in five different languages. Admission and refreshments are free. The DVD “Harnessing Nature – Building the Great Sacandaga” will be available for sale for $20 with proceeds going to the Mayfield Historical Society.
