Micropolis Cooperative will hold a “Meet the Artists” reception at its gallery on Friday, July 12 from 5-7pm. Painter and educator Kevin Kuhne, resident of the Capitol District, will be the featured artist.
Kuhne’s interest in local history, architecture, people and conservation inspires him and is the main motivation for his work. While watercolor is his main medium, Kevin also works in mixed media constructions. He is a member of many organizations including the Oakroom Artists of Schenectady and the Albany Artists Group.
In his Artist’s Statement Kevin says, “My teaching is my main impetus to paint, pushing me to constantly examine and explain the formal and technical problems of painting and design.”
Paintings, drawings, pastels, photographs, fiber art, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, jewelry, pottery, woodland assemblages and fine art cards by Micropolis artists will also be on display.
The show, which is free and open to the public, runs through August at Micropolis, 30 N. Main St., Gloversville. The gallery is located inside Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market and is open seven days a week. (MON-FRI / 8AM-7PM — SAT / 8AM-5PM — SUN / 9AM-4PM)
