Will March come in like a lamb or a lion? Come in and join us at our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off Contest – Saturday, March 7th, 2015 from noon – 4:00 p.m. to find out!!! This event is hosted by the Van Alstyne Homestead Society and Museum (The Fort Rensselaer Club), 42 Moyer Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Taste the best chili by our local celebrities (principals, mayors, ministers, etc.) as they compete for the top spot in the following categories: best traditional chili, most creative chili, and fan favorite. Judging will commence at 2:00 p.m. Live music will be performed by the Jan Cronkhite Quartet featuring: Jan Cronkhite (saxophone), Bill Brust (drums), Ira Meltzer (grand piano), and Laurie Stewart (vocalist). There will be a 50/50 raffle and the museum will be opened to visitors (new members are always welcome)! Tickets are $10.00 and will be available at the door. Tickets can also be purchased at The Plain Food Coop in Fort Plain, NY (518-993-4196), and at The Mohawk Valley Regional Center in Canajoharie, NY (518-673-4711).
