This two-hour workshop will introduce guitar players to a variety of lead and backup guitar techniques used in county, folk and bluegrass styles. Instructor Bill Ackerbauer will walk students through several traditional and classic songs from the Americana repertoire. Topics will include alternating-bass backup, bass runs in common keys, Carter style back up and lead, fiddle tunes and melodic solos. This workshop is designed for beginning and intermediate guitar players. Students should already know how to play a few songs and be comfortable playing common first-position chords. They must bring their own guitars. The cost is $45 for those who pre-register or $50 for walk-ins.
