The Caroga Historical Museum will host a presentation by author Lisa Potocar on August 18th from 7-9PM. The title of her presentation is First Ladies: Transforming Women’s Roles in Civil War America. The times around and especially during the American Civil War presented women with vast opportunities to pioneer their way into roles traditionally reserved for men. Lisa Potocar will unveil some of these “first ladies” along with their motivations for having bravely stepped outside of their traditional roles as wives, mothers, and homemakers. For this presentation, Lisa pulls from the research she did for her novels Sweet Glory and Train to Glory.
