Linda Batchelor of Northampton, Massachusetts, will be the featured guest artist at Micropolis Gallery in Gloversville from July 10 through Labor Day. A “Meet the Artists” reception will be held at the gallery on Friday, July 10 from 5-7pm.
Linda is a printmaker and collage artist who has exhibited both regionally and nationally. She has won awards and prizes including a merit prize by Joann Moser, Senior Curator of Prints at the Smithsonian American Museum of Art, Washington, D.C. Linda has work represented in many collections including The Boston Public Library, Baltimore City College, and Fidelity.
With a focus on color and pattern, Batchelor creates pictorial works of stylized bottles and figures. She has been working with monotypes and collages for a number of years. This medium is well suited to her explorations in color and pattern and the emotional harmonies they create.
Also on display will be original artwork by Micropolis artists Dan Bridge, Eileen Carey-Testo, Laurie Cerasia, Carol Law Conklin, Ruth Crotty, James Dempsey, Constance Dodge, Nancy Dunn, Susy Easterly, Katherine Ehle, Cheryl Gutmaker, Michelle Harring, Linda Hinkle, Lynda Naske, Ellen Rae Panero, Judith Plotner, Sandra Grace Smith, and Patsy Suydam. The show includes paintings, drawings, photos, fiber art, batik, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, floral art, sculpture, jewelry, and pottery.
Micropolis Gallery, located inside Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market at 30 N. Main St., Gloversville, is open seven days a week. For more information visit www.MicropolisGallery.com.
