The day’s events will kick off with three hours of valentine crafts for kids followed by afternoon art workshops for older children and adults and an evening of Latin dance, free wine & dessert tastings and a free acoustic concert and open mic night to close out the celebration.
The schedule is as follows:
10 a.m.-1 p.m. – Kids’ Valentine Crafts: Children 4 and up can make a Valentine card and “Funny Valentine Guy,” stuff and personalize a Valentine pillow or paint a Valentine wine glass. $5 materials fee for each craft. Limit 2 per child.
1-3 p.m. – Soft Sculpture Cupid Workshop: A soft sculpture workshop for ages 9 and up will provide step-by-step instruction for making a Fiber-fil and nylon figure of Cupid with gold wings for a finishing touch. $5 materials fee.
3-4:30 p.m. – Live Music by Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle: Shoppers can browse Mrs. B’s gift gallery while they enjoy the ballads and folk music of regional performers Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle — before they have to hurry off to their evening gig.
3:30-5:30 p.m. – Love Birds Sip-n-Paint: Participants 12 and up can join Mrs. B for a guided acrylic painting of love birds and non-alcoholic refreshments. Reservations recommended. Limit 10. $5 materials fee.
5:30-6:30 p.m. – Salsa/Merengue Dance Lesson – Instructor Nancy Berner Smith will show couples –or singles — how to move to the Latin beat of these two favorite dances. $10/couple or $5/participant. Includes buffet of Latin hors d’oeuvres to follow. Reservations strongly recommended. Limit 6 couples or 12 people..
6:30-8:30 p.m. – Free Wine and Cheese Cake Tasting –
Representatives from Hummingbird Hills Winery in Montgomery County will serve up samples of their best-selling wine varieties while participants nibble locally-made custom cheese cake by John Nare.
8-10 p.m. – Acoustic Concert & Open Mic Night with Nikki Bruce & Friends. Looking for an audience in an intimate setting? Step up to the mic after being inspired by the sweet sounds of the multi-talented Nicole Bruce.
