The area’s most informative day for local hunters, fishermen and outdoors lovers is just around the corner. The eighth-annual Sacandaga Sportsmen’s Day is set for Jan. 7, 2017.

Registration begins at 9:45 a.m., when vendors, displays and refreshments will be available. The day includes seminars, the all-you-can-eat Sportsmen’s Buffet featuring commercially raised game meats, and door prizes, including several firearms. The cost is still just $20. Tickets will be available at the door.

The guest speaker is Brian Holloway of Non-Typical Ministries. Brian is a pro staff member for Realtree, whose hunts are filmed for Realtree Outdoors TV and the Realtree Monster Bucks DVDs, as well as a pro staff member for Stratos Boats. He tours and fishes on the Professional Anglers Association and Bass tournament trails. He is the pastor of Timberlake Church in Johnson City, Tenn.
