The Mayfield Historical Society will hold its annual Band Concert and Ice Cream Social on Thursday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Rice Homestead, 328 Riceville Rd., Mayfield.
This year the concert will feature “The Saints Jazz Quintet Plus One.” “The Saints” play easy listening swing, Dixieland, and standard ballads. This group has been described as the playing the best American Jazz music around, adapted to the music of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. The Saints have played at such venues as the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, NY, and the Walton Jazz Festival.
The price for ice cream, choice of cake, and a beverage will be $3 per adult and $2 for children under 8. In the event of rain the event will be held at the Firemen’s Pavilion on North School Street in Mayfield.
