The Gloversville High School’s drama club, Scitamard, is proud to present: “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”. Under the direction of Jennifer Flynn and technical director Marc Norton, we invite you to join us in this comical, hectic, and sentimental experience!
A beloved classic since its original publication in 1972, this story is still appealing today. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is sweet, humorous, and sentimental. The Herdmans are a family of children who swear, lie, and are generally feared by other kids. When they get wind of the annual church Christmas pageant, they bully their way into the main roles and wreak havoc. Through what is a most unusual Christmas pageant, the community takes another look at the Christmas story’s true meaning. What some feared would be the worst pageant in church history turns out to have a special quality that causes the community to rethink the real meaning of the Christmas story.
