“War Comes to Tryon County” hosted by the circa 1730 Van Alstyne Homestead and Museum. This event will feature a theatrical presentation of the Tryon County Committee of Safety Meeting originally held August 25-27 1775. The interactive presentation will allow the audience to participate in the debate. There will also be music, food, and spirits of the Colonial Era in the recreated Goshen “Goose” Van Alstyne’s Tavern. The event will be from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30th, 2016. This is part of Mohawk Country Heritage Association’s (Julyfest) month long celebration ( Admission for adults is $10.00 and admission for children under 12 years of age is $5.00.
