A special program for women, taught by women. From 9:30am – 2:30pm beginner and intermediate level female skiers, grouped by ability, will receive instruction in classic technique. Enjoy lunch with an equipment & clothing discussion, participate in a social group ski and enjoy a group skills wrap-up at the end of the day. The program is led by Lapland Lake’s PSIA-certified instructors. Cost for the five-hour program is $60 which includes facility use pass, lunch and equipment discount coupon. Many of us know somebody who is suffering from cancer. Cancer has become an epidemic in our area. The staff at Mountain Valley Hospice gives wonderful care to those cancer victims who are facing the end stage of their disease…and of their life. The staff also gives compassionate care to family members of cancer victims. Their dedication to those suffering from cancer helps to ease the horror of the disease. We put together this concert so we could give them our support and encouragement to keep up the fight against cancer.

A renowned recitalist and performer, Sylvia Bloom brings her wide span of vocal repertoire to our music series. Sylvia is on faculty at SUNY Adirondack and is the director of education at Temple Sinai in Saratoga, Springs, New York. She has performed in productions at Hubbard Hall and was a chorus member of the San Francisco Opera.

These popular, guided tours start out at with a bowl of chili and a side of cornbread at our Kuuma Feeding Station on the 2nd floor of the main lodge building. Then strap on your snowshoes (also available for rent) and head out with our guides on a memorable moonlit tour, stopping at a lakeside campfire for a snack and hot beverage. 6pm to approx. 9pm. Tour leaves the lodge building at 6:30pm. Please arrive at 5:30pm if renting snowshoes.
Reservations are a must! Headlamps are strongly recommended. We have a limited number to loan on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive at 5:30pm if renting snowshoes.
