The Chamber is happy to announce a new event for this year – an event targeted at women in our region and beyond! The event will feature Shopping, Wine/Beer/Cider Tastings and amazing Savory bites! The event will be held at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative
Arts, 2736 State Highway 30 in Gloversville. Target demographic for this event is women ages 21 and above. Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to a woman’s organization who is a member of the Chamber. We expect that the entrance fee will be $10 a person that will include tickets for an amazing basket raffle that we will have that night, the wine/beer/cider tastings, entertainment, and beautiful hors d’ouevres. We are planning a fun, wonderful night for women that we expect will become an annual event.

Children ages 5-10 will chase the November chill away by creating their very own beach in a jar. Each child will start with an empty jar and add beach sand, seashells, driftwood, stones and a tiny bit of sea glass. By the end of class, kids will have a moving sculpture that is fun to watch as they turn the jar. Beth will also show little artists how to make paper flowers to add to their November summer experience.

Join the Glove City Winds and Community Winds in an afternoon of music inspired by all things fantastical. The City Winds will be performing the Symphonic Fantasy from “Howl’s Moving Castle” and the Community Winds will be performing highlights from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. More on the program to include works by: Rachmaninov, Tchasikovsky and Whitacre.

GLOVERSVILLE, NY — The 2017 Gloversville Holiday Parade has been set to be held starting at 7 pm on Friday evening November 17th. The parade will begin at the corner of North Main Street and Eighth Avenue before traveling south on North Main Street and continuing onto South Main Street. It will end at the Gloversville Water Department on South Main Street near Forest Street.

In recognition of his continued service to the City of Gloversville this year’s Gloversville Holiday Parade Grand Marshal has been voted as Gloveresville Mayor Dayton King.

BROADALBIN, NY — The first ever Rock for Tots of Fulton & Montgomery Counties has been set to be held at the Robin’s Nest in the Town of Broadalbin on Saturday night November 25th, 2017. The event will include LIVE band performances and other music by Top Shelf Entertainment along with food and drink specials. Admission tickets will be available in advance for just $5 (to be announced) or just $7 at the door. All are urged to bring at least one new unwrapped toy. A concert featuring classical masterpieces written for children including Camille Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals” and Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf”. Also on the program Astor Piazzola’s Libertango and a commissioned work by Ralph Raymond Hays. The performance will feature a woodwind quintet featuring Gloversville Community Music faculty Kelly Lockwood, oboe and Joshua Thompson, French horn. Also performing, Ann Bottisti, flute, Alexander Kollias, clarinet and Kristen Powell, bassoon. Special guest narrators to be announced.
