Kyle Rix Live Acoustic Performance

Come join us for an amazing evening of live music with Kyle Rix! Get ready to be blown away by his soulful voice and mesmerizing guitar skills.

Kyle Rix is a local singer songwriter who loves to connect to people through his music and music he covers through many different decades of music. He plays out at open mics, farmers markets, and local events ie.. weddings, music festivals and Yoga events that include live music.

Join stained glass artisan Doug Hallberg for this 5-hour intensive mega-workshop on the craft of working with stained glass! Each student will learn about the process of this timeless art form and make two stained glass feathers to take home. This workshop is for students ages 16 and older of any experience level. A lunch break will be provided – you can bring your own lunch or plan to visit one of our local restaurants.

Advanced students are welcome to make a 12″ clear glass window hanging with bevels.

Instructor Doug Hallberg is a retired NYS public school art educator (1996-2012) with an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2012, he was awarded a New York State Enterprise grant to open Carriage House Art Studio in Oneonta, NY (2012-2018) to provide a variety of community classes, including some geared toward artists with special needs. His areas of expertise include stained glass, ceramics, sculpture and drawing.

Wildflowers start making an appearance in the Adirondacks in April. We will choose from several photos of wildflowers taken in the Southern Adirondacks and structure a vignetted watercolor painting of one variety. Technical demonstrations and step-by-step guidance will be provided throughout the workshop. Cheryl Bielli has led several wildflower painting workshops in Fulton County and produces an annual edition of Roadside Wildflowers of the Southern Adirondacks on towels and other kitchenware.

In this class, you will transform a variety of carnations into an arrangement that looks like an ice cream soda with straws and a cherry on top. These arrangements are fun to make and even better to give! Join Brenda for a super fun time.

Mandalas relax the mind and have the power to transform negative thoughts into positive ones. Join instructor Heather Mattioni to learn different tips and tricks for creating your own mandala designs. You will go home with an original mandala design hand-drawn by you!

In this class, we will enjoy some social time while following some simple steps to make 3-D paper flowers. Using pre-made templates and a wide variety of scrapbook paper, you will create beautiful decorations in colors of your choice!

Chicken Pot Pie & Chocolate Torte | Andrew Dench, instructor

Come join us for a delicious cooking class with the talented chef Andrew Dench! Learn how to make the perfect Chicken Pot Pie and Chocolate Torte from scratch. This in-person event will be held at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and get cooking! Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot now.

Choose between a wooden rolling pin or cutting board to create a love-themed kitchen decoration for Mom with multi-surface paints. Create your own culinary, floral or bird design or use one from the instructor’s selection. Cutting boards are usable; rolling pins are decorative only and come with a hanging ribbon.

Lexington’s Gala Night Out – “Back to the Ranch” will take place under the stars and in the big tent at the Nigra Arts Center in Mayfield. The Night Out is a celebration and fundraiser for Lexington, showcasing the achievements of the men and women supported by Lexington, it’s employees and the community that supports our efforts.  The event is a fun night of food, drink and entertainment, raffles, silent auctions and a performance by the band Flame.  The Night Out is open to all.
