Join us October 12th at 6:00pm as magic-lantern performers Dawn Elliott and Joel Schlemowitz present “Phantasmagoria!”
This 18th century-inspired magic lantern show is an unearthly experience created from a form of projected imagery. In the late 18th century, scientist and showman Étienne-Gaspard Robertson astonished Paris with his magic lantern show, featuring spooky images of ghosts and goblins that seemed to dance across the glowing screen! Elliot and Schlemowitz will recreate the experience of the Phantasmagoria right before your eyes with their eerie repertoire of recreated 18th century images, stories, and sounds! This unique performance is not to be missed!
This FREE, all-ages event will take place outdoors in the historic courtyard of Johnson Hall. Cider and donuts will be provided.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to dress for the weather and to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
The rain-date for this performance in October 13th at 6:00pm. Please call Johnson Hall at (518) 762-8712 for more information.
