The Mayfield Historical Society will be kicking off the summer season with its 41st Annual Strawberry Festival and premiering its new fundraiser “Treasures in the Trunk” sale on Saturday, June 15th, from noon to 4 pm at The Rice Homestead, 328 Riceville Road in Mayfield, NY. Live music will be provided by Ryan Matter from 1-3. Admission is free. Strawberry shortcake with ice cream and lemonade will be available for a donation of $5/$3 for children 8 and under. Don’t miss this opportunity to sell your new, used or antique treasures from the trunk of your vehicle or bring your own tables. The pre-registration cost will be $10 per vehicle parking spot (12’ x 12’) and $15 for the day of the event registration. You may purchase more than one spot if you wish to do so. All merchandise not sold must be removed at 4 pm. To register for Treasures in the Trunk or for more information contact Bob Suits at 518-857-2820. Free tours of the Rice Homestead will be given and the Loom Room, Mill Stone Garden, Heritage Flower Garden, and Oliver’s Trail will be open for viewing and strolling. In the event of rain, the event will take place at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St. in Mayfield and the Treasurers in the Trunk will be canceled. The Rice Homestead will be open throughout the summer on Wednesdays and Saturdays from noon to 4 pm until Labor Day and by appointment by calling 518-725-5261 or 518-332-0538.
