Daniel McIntyre Home

Located on County Route 107, near the entrance to the parking lot of the Broadalbin-Perth Intermediate/Middle School campus

Daniel McIntyre and his family arrived in 1775 from Perthshire, Scotland to settle in the wilderness that became Broadalbin, a portion of which was later added to Perth. Daniel built his homestead and farm, quickly becoming a community leader in the rural area. When the Revolutionary War Began, Indian raids in this frontier were not uncommon. The family moved to Albany for safety, returning in 1780 to build a larger home. The first Broadalbin town meeting was held at his home on April 1, 1794.

This marker was funded and erected in collaboration with the Perth Historical Society, acting cooperatively with the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District.
