Home of “Miss Kitty” Husted
The marker is located at 25 Maple Street in the Village of Broadalbin, between the intersections of Thompson and Meadow Streets
Margaret Katherine Husted, known as “Miss Kitty,” resided in this home while spending her summers at Broadalbin. She was active in local civic affairs, aided in the beautification of the village and was an active benefactor during her residence here in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Miss Husted helped finance the railroad to Broadalbin and is possibly best remembered for the beautiful Italian Gardens located on her estate.
