The Glove Theatre will celebrate its 110th anniversary in October 2024. The theatre is the last surviving vaudeville theatre in the region. The theatre and office space above the theatre served as the headquarters for the Schine movie empire. The theatre presents theatrical, educational and community events as well as concerts, comedy and weekly movies. The Glove Theatre is a landmark and centerpiece of downtown Gloversville’s revitalization effort. The Glove’s mission is to establish an accessible platform of expression for the arts that engages, entertains, and educates the regional community and fosters talent and economic development opportunities for the Southern Adirondack and Mohawk Valley regions.

The Glove Theatre Museum features artifacts and photographs detailing The Glove Theatre’s rich history, a century of performers/performances, important civic events, the Theatre’s role as the headquarters of the Schine movie empire and a centerpiece of downtown Gloversville life. The exhibit tells the story of the only remaining vaudeville theatre in the Southern Adirondacks/Mohawk Valley region to survive into the 21st century.
