Join Courtney Wood for a Mom & Me Mother’s Day yoga class! This session will consist of:

Join stained glass artisan Doug Hallberg for this 5-hour intensive mega-workshop on the craft of working with stained glass! Each student will learn about the process of this timeless art form and make two stained glass feathers to take home. This workshop is for students ages 16 and older of any experience level. His areas of expertise include stained glass, ceramics, sculpture and drawing.

Get ready for Flag Day and summer with a lovely little watercolor of Old Glory hanging from a traditional porch. Paint as loosely or as tightly as you want, using wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques reinforced throughout the session.

Working on watercolor paper, we will create a beautiful bumblebee painting. To begin, we first trace to get the bee shape just right. Is there a better way to treat your father on this special day than bestowing him with a beautiful and delicious charcuterie tasting board? Ours will be loaded with cured meats, various cheeses, crusty bread, crackers, olives and fruits.

This tried-and-true project from a popular sip-n-paint has a high success rate due to its simple shapes and broad-brush blending. Leave this workshop with an 11X14” souvenir that will bring the peace of the Adirondacks into any home or office. Step-by step instruction and troubleshooting provided.

A Dutch pour is an acrylic pouring technique that uses air to manipulate the paints on a canvas. Dutch pours are known for the ribbon-like edges and cell lacing that can be achieved using this technique. Join Brenda as she guides you through paint mixing, pouring and directing colors using a small hairdryer on a 16-inch round studio board.

For all you bakers out there, you will not want to miss making individual pound cakes to take home as well as sample at the end of class. After the measuring and mixing are finished and the mini loaf pound cake is baking, we will make a scrumptious berry medley to top with whipped cream.

This stunning piece displays a harmonious fusion of texture, color and sparkling elements reminiscent of the natural wonder of geodes. We will mimic the rugged yet enchanting surfaces using paper and glue for depth, dimension and textural elements, applying layers of paint using dry brushing techniques and adding cut glass in natural hues of rose and smoky quartz, among other crystal choices.

Lexington’s Gala Night Out – “Back to the Ranch” will take place under the stars and in the big tent at the Nigra Arts Center in Mayfield. The Night Out is a celebration and fundraiser for Lexington, showcasing the achievements of the men and women supported by Lexington, it’s employees and the community that supports our efforts.  The event is a fun night of food, drink and entertainment, raffles, silent auctions and a performance by the band Flame.  The Night Out is open to all.
